New season, new space.

  • Tip 1

Change out your mudroom and entry mats.

Use a heavy-duty option in winter and fall, and something a little lighter during spring and summer. While it isn’t the “sexiest” change, having something in place that can handle the inevitable snow and dirt that comes with the colder seasons is worth it.

  • Tip 2

    Up your candle game.

Whether you prefer scent-free candles like this, or something more aromatic like these, lighting a candle is the perfect way to encapsulate a new season in your home.

  • Tip 3

Switch to a snuggly, and warm throw.

I love a light cotton throw during the warmer months, but as soon as fall hits I swap it out for something cozier. I have a great mohair throw that I use in my Family Room three of the four seasons.

  • Tip 4

    Freshen up your florals!

Adding florals is a tried-and-true way to showcase the current season. I use the same vase throughout the year, and will either place branches from the grocery store or hydrangeas from my garden depending on what season it is.

  • Tip 5

Update your bathroom hand towels depending on the season. Guests always appreciate having access to lotion, tissues, and a heavier-weight towel option during the colder months.
