Home to a family of six and two dogs, this house sits on the Cumberland River just outside Nashville, Tennessee. The family loves to host, with a hundred-plus friends and neighbors turning up for almost every big holiday. What they wanted was bold and sophisticated, matched to their taste and quietly family-friendly underneath.

Having relocated from Chicago with strong, specific style, the couple never once considered a Nashville aesthetic; this home is entirely their own. Unafraid color, contrast, and pattern give every room depth and richness, grounded tones of brown and navy with pops of green, lavender, red, and orange. Their art collection deepens it further, much of it one of a kind, gathered over years into a real passion. Come a holiday, the bar is where everyone lands, its walls tiled floor to ceiling after his favorite restaurant in New York.
